- Designs personal fitness programs for people with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Instructsand educates members in proper strength, cardiovascular and overall wellness trainingprinciples in individual or small-group settings. Educates and enforces operational guidelinesand regulations with all members. Promotes healthy living for personal training clients andstaff, while working in a results-driven, team atmosphere.

Duties:
- 1.
Develops safe and effective personalized training programs for clients includingcardiovascular, strength training, and flexibility components, based on client’s goals andmotivations.2. Observes clients in exercising and demonstrates correct techniques to minimize injury andimprove fitness.3. Gives alternative exercises during workouts for different levels of fitness and skill level.4. Monitors clients’ progress and adapts programs as needed.5. Maintains professional standards among clients including punctuality, proper attire and thecreation and maintenance of a friendly, safe and motivating training relationship.6. Contacts and sets up initial meetings with prospective clients, promoting personal training,while also providing information on general YMCA programs as needed.7. Properly completes and turns in all paperwork and digital formats as per personal trainingaccounting policies and best practices.8. Attends all personal trainer staff and wellness training meetings, mandatory branch staffmeetings and continuing education sessions.9. Performs fitness consultations, assessments and orientations.10. Communicates any equipment problems, member concerns, or suggestions to the WellnessDirector Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations for fitness activities, and theproper use of exercise equipment.11. Gives clients information or resources about nutrition, weight control, and related lifestyleissues.12. Gives emergency first aid if needed, and fills out appropriate incident reports whennecessary.13. Attends required abuse risk management training.14. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.15. Adheres to job specific risk management responsibilities.
Qualifications:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age2. ACE, AFAA, NASM, NSCA, and ACSM or other nationally accredited organization certificationprior to employment3. Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification4. All required association training completed as per HR directives5. Newly certified trainers must shadow an experienced, certified personal trainer (2 years ormore experience) for a minimum of 2 sessions/shifts at the discretion of the WellnessDirector6. Must be able to articulate and communicate effectively while instructing participants inproper execution of weight bearing and cardiovascular exercise.7. Must have current knowledge of strength training guidelines and ability to modify exercisesfor special populations when needed.

Pay and Perks:
- $22-$30/hour, depending on experience and certifications.
