Adjunct/Part-Time Temporary Position Title Group Fitness Instructor-PT Temporary Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Fitness Coordinator, the Group Fitness Instructor will lead members, in a group environment, through safe and effective fitness classes for wellness and recreational Services. This position is responsible for providing group exercise fitness instruction and supervision in a variety of formats. Candidates must be able to instruct multiple fitness levels and ensure the safety of all patrons in the class. The Group Fitness Instructor is a temporary part-time position and will teach 1-3 classes per week. Temporary Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leads and teaches scheduled exercise classes to a group of participants, ensuring safe and effective workouts.
Plans engaging workout routines with variations to accommodate diverse fitness levels, including warm-up, cardio, strength training, and cool-down segments.
Demonstrates exercise techniques to ensure participants execute movements safely and effectively
Ceates engaging routines to motivate individuals towards achieving their fitness goals and a supportive atmosphere to maximize class engagement. .
Adapts exercises to suit individual needs and limitations, offering progressions and regressions for different fitness levels.
Monitors participants during class, addresses any concerns, and responds appropriately to potential injuries.
Selects appropriate music that complements the workout intensity and motivates participants.
Set up and organize necessary exercise equipment for each class.
Answers questions, provides feedback, and addresses individual needs within the group.
Keeps current with fitness trends, industry best practices, and new exercise modalities. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years’ experience leading group fitness classes required. Preferred Qualifications This position also requires the instructor to be dependable and punctual and possess strong leadership qualities. Must display an energetic, enthusiastic and motivational attitude during classes. Must present a professional demeanor and appearance. Must possess excellent oral, written, customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Must be organized and creative. Certifications, Licenses, Restrictions Must hold a current fitness certification from an accredited certifying agency.
Must have a current First Aid certification.
Must have a current Adult CPR certification.
