Job Description Open To All Applicants Salary is NegotiableAfter successful completion of the probationary period, employeewill receive off probation wage increase.
Summary:
Provide pharmacyservices to patients and medical practitioners. Fill prescriptions;dispense medicine, counsel patients and medical practitionersregarding the nature and use of drugs. Prepare and maintain allnecessary records on prescriptions, patient charges, and inventory.
Continuation of this position is contingent upon fundingallocation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversee the preparationand dispensing of prescription medications to patients or medicalpractitioners; make decisions regarding generic substitution ofprescribed pharmaceuticals.
- Counsel patients and medicalpractitioners on drug indications/contraindications, dosage, druginteractions, and side effects; provide other drug andpharmaceutical information as appropriate.
- Oversee theacquisition and disbursement of drugs and medications to variousoffices, clinics, and other sites.
- Provide guidance and trainingto pharmacy technicians during course of work and monitorsperformance.
- Establish and maintain methods and manner of storageand recordkeeping systems to provide for safekeeping ofpharmaceuticals.
- Follow established departmental policies,procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvementobjectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection controlstandards.
- Interpret and enter orders on computer systems.
- Monitor medication therapy and maintain medication records.
- Ordermedications and supplies.
- Check medication stock for expirationor unusable stock.
- Clean and maintain pharmacy equipment.
- Debitand credit patient accounts.
- Keep track of Controlled Substances
- Prepare various reports as requested.
- Contribute to a teameffort and accomplish related results.
- Adhere to all TribalPersonnel Policies and Procedures, Tribal Standard OperatingProcedures, and Area and Program Strategic Plans and Policies.
- Maintain strict departmental security, confidentiality, and qualityto meet professional standards of the department
