Job Description

Position Summary:

The Patient Success Pharmacist I supports several operational teams, including the Patient Engagement Team, InteliView Pharmacist Team, and Pharmacy Fulfillment Team. This role is responsible for transferring prescriptions, consulting with providers and patients on medication orders, and ensuring proper dosing, handling, and usage of prescribed medications. The Patient Success Pharmacist I works directly with patients to answer questions and provide clinical guidance while performing a variety of pharmacy functions each day.

Key Responsibilities:

Process prescriptions in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Support the Patient Engagement Team with clinical education and patient inquiries. Assist patients with questions about side effects, medication administration, and general usage. Manage manufacturer recalls and product backorders. Handle prescription transfers, physician calls, data logging, and drug utilization reviews. Serve as the primary clinical liaison between Patient Engagement and Pharmacy Operations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care. Resolve patient issues with a focus on providing exceptional service. Maintain effective communication across all departments to resolve patient and prescription issues. Update patient records, including allergies, medical conditions, and medication lists. Participate in weekly task management through MedPlan. Ensure compliance with all applicable accreditation standards (URAC, ACHC, NABP). Participate in on-call rotations as assigned. Complete continuing education requirements to maintain licensure. Meet or exceed department productivity and quality metrics. Provide general administrative and team support as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Pharmacy. Licensed Pharmacist in the state of employment (must obtain dual licensure in Georgia and Florida). Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a retail or mail-order pharmacy setting preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines.
