Job DescriptionJob SummaryThis position, under the directsupervision of a registered pharmacist, assists in the procurement,storage, preparation, distribution, and delivery of medications andother pharmaceutical products to Frye Regional Medical Centerpatients in a timely and accurate fashion and in accordance withestablished regulations and procedures. COMPANY DESCRIPTIONFryeRegional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills ofNorth Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed BehavioralHealth facility and more than 70 primary and specialty careproviders. Essential Functions Assists pharmacist(s) in filling medication orders Preparing medications and supplies for dispensing, including: Repackaging bulk medications Compounding ointments and creams, oral solutions, and othermedications Delivers medications to patient care areas and retrievespharmacy related items Accurately restocks automated dispensing cabinets according toinventory levels Charges and credits patient profiles for medications used orreturned to the pharmacy Assists with inventory management by stocking fluids andmedications on shelves Inspects assigned out of date sections and/or nursing units oroperating rooms on a monthly basis Answering phone calls and handling questions that do notrequire pharmacist expertise or judgment and routing calls to theappropriate party as necessary Maintains compliance and understanding of Compounding SterileProducts Policy and USP Prepares IVs, PCAs, Epidurals in accordance with CSP Policy andUSP Assists with training and orientation of new teammates todepartment workflow and procedures Why join our team?
