Job Description

Job Summary :

The Clinical Pharmacist provides patient-centered care to patients for adult acute care patients.

This position must:

provide pharmaceutical care to patients to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes; promote cost-effective drug therapy; provide assistance in educating pharmacy students, PGY1 and PGY2 residents; participate in research projects to improve patient outcomes; participate on Medical Center and Department committees; assist with verification of medication orders and distribution of pharmaceutical products; coordinate and participate in the education of pharmacist and other health care professionals in regards to pharmacotherapy; initiate and/or participate in medication utilization evaluations; participate in the drug therapy management in emergency situations; assist in developing and implementing treatment protocols in order to improve patient care. How You’ll Impact Patient care : Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Process medication orders and prescriptions from physicians and nurses. Supervise technicians to ensure timely and accurate medication dispensing, optimizing staff utilization. Deliver pharmaceutical care for optimal patient outcomes. Contribute to quality improvement efforts through teamwork. Continuously update and document skills and knowledge. Maintain documentation for compliance with standards and regulations. Set personal goals to support departmental objectives. Provide age-appropriate care following guidelines. Foster a cooperative work environment through effective communication and teamwork.

What You Will Need:

Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.

D.) is required. Current state pharmacist license in good standing through North Carolina Board of Pharmacy is required. Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or equivalent experience is required. Nice To Have (Not Required) : Completion of a PGY2 Cardiology, Transplant, or Pharmacotherapy residency is preferred. Board Certification is preferred. Previous mentorship of pharmacy residents is preferred. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Possesses strong organizational and leadership skills. Takes self-initiative to innovate and collaborate with team members.
