Part Time Position Summary:

The Adjunct Faculty will work in the Department of Pharmacy Practice in the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences directing and instructing in the Pharmacy Christian Missions elective course for students in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. A Christian Mission is an organized effort for the propagation of Christian faith. In the Christian Missions elective, student pharmacists will participate in learning activities designed to educate them on the practicality of overseas mission work of the pharmacist, prepare them for mission rotations, or a career in medical missions. The successful candidate should have a BS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of pharmacy degree with post-graduate experience in the field of specialty pharmacy. It would be highly desirable for the candidate to have experience in the education of student pharmacists and medical mission involvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement curriculum, inclusive of learning objectives
Develop and manage course materials including learning objectives
Select and administer tests, assignments and other exercises that permit measurement of performance relative to the course learning objectives
Post grades on the Blackboard Grade Center and well as Campbell’s Self Service portal
Maintain timely communications with students and staff at all times
Interact with students in a positive manner, listen effectively, field questions pertaining to subject matter
Assess participation and performance of students within the classroom
Evaluate student work on out of class assignments
Administer exams according to university guidelines Complete student record keeping in a timely and accurate manner
This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.

Education/Experience:

Doctor of Pharmacy or BS in Pharmacy
Experience in medical missions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
Maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail are essential.
Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
Broad knowledge of Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX, HIPAA, and FERPA guidelines.
