Description of Work The position is a pharmacist at Central Prison Healthcare Complex in Raleigh, which houses approximately 1,318 close-custodial male offenders. This position provides pharmaceutical care within the NC Department of Adult Corrections. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Medication dispensing, Clinical interventions, Final medication product verification, Provision of drug information, Nursing inquires, Ancillary supply replenishment, Training, Formulary and utilization review adherence, Patient medication compliance monitoring, Controlled substance accountability, Education and consultation with healthcare providers, Inventory control responsibilities, Cost containment processes, Coordination of workflow and clinical supervision of pharmacy technicians
Work Schedule:

Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, monitor workflow, resolve dispensing problems, and monitor data integrity.

Demonstrated ability to identify issues and recommend solutions and provide drug information to healthcare providers.

It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving the lives and property of its citizens through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision.
