Job Description
Position Overview The Staff Pharmacist provides safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy management in collaboration with healthcare providers. This role includes clinical responsibilities such as interdisciplinary rounding, medication reconciliation, drug monitoring, dosing, and patient education. The Pharmacist also performs distributive functions and contributes to pharmacy operations by precepting students, supporting regulatory compliance, and improving care delivery systems. Key Responsibilities Provide medication therapy management and order verification in compliance with clinical guidelines. Monitor drug therapy for safety, efficacy, and interactions. Support patient education and interdisciplinary rounding. Serve as a preceptor to pharmacy students and support departmental training. Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards and ensure compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations. Assist in inventory control and medication distribution processes. Position Requirements Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). Experience Minimum one (1) year of clinical patient care and medication order management experience. Required Registration/License/Certification Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of North Carolina. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong clinical knowledge and pharmaceutical judgment. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to prioritize patient needs and respond in dynamic environments. Proficiency in organizing workflow and managing multiple projects. Familiarity with pharmacy systems and technology.
