Job Description
Category Pharmacy – Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist for a home infusion company in Nashville, TN. This role is essential for ensuring high-quality pharmacy services and patient care.

ASAP Duration :
12 weeks or longer
Shift :
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (rotating shifts, including on-call late shift from 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
Prescription Review & Approval :
Review and approve prescriptions to be filled by pharmacy technicians in accordance with state board regulations.
Medication Assessment :
Conduct comprehensive medication assessments using patient medical information for all prescriptions.
Order Accuracy :
Perform final checks of filled prescriptions to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
Compliance & Quality Control :
Work closely with the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist in Charge to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, especially related to controlled substances and legend drugs.
Cost Containment :
Assist in the implementation of quality and cost containment strategies for dispensing and procurement activities.
Clinical Expertise :
Respond to drug-related questions and concerns from internal staff (Technicians, RNs) and external customers.
Therapeutic Drug Monitoring :
Assess laboratory data and determine appropriate therapeutic drug ranges.
Special Projects & Initiatives :
Collaborate with pharmacy management on other responsibilities and special projects as needed.
On-Call Availability :
Availability to assist with on-call responsibilities when required, and act as the pharmacy leader in the absence of the Pharmacist in Charge.
Competency Verification :
Complete a competency verification plan upon hire and annually thereafter to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Confidentiality :
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company proprietary information, patient/client care, and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education :
Graduate of an accredited pharmacy school.
Licensure :
Licensed by the State Board of Pharmacy as required for the role.
Communication :
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Technical Skills :
Strong computer skills.
Teamwork :
Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
Multitasking :
Strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
