Shift Position Summary:
The Pharmacy OperationsManager , in conjunction with the Director of Pharmacy andaccording to established policies and procedures, supervises andcoordinates the daily operations of the pharmacy department toprovide the safest and highest quality care for our patients.
Responsibilities will include oversight of daily activities andworkflows, scheduling, sterile compounding, hazardous drugs,shortages, revenue cycle and other areas to meet the needs of thedepartment. The pharmacy technicians will report directly to thisposition. The ability to solve practical and strategic problems,resolve conflict, implement constructive change, and adhere tolegal and regulatory requirements will be needed on a daily basis.
The manager also works in consultation with the Director ofPharmacy to assure the department meets the needs and goals of ourpatients, hospital leadership, medical staff, nursing, and otherdepartments throughout the health system.
Minimum Qualifications:
Registered pharmacist in good standing with the state ofConnecticut, B.S. or PharmD. degree Minimum 5 years’ experience asa staff or clinical pharmacist, with additional management orsupervisory experience strongly preferred Good patient, providerand staff communication skills Strong commitment to working withpatients and staff from a wide range of ethnic, economic, culturaland social backgrounds Refined project management skills includingthe ability to implement new programs and processes Stronginterpersonal skills including the ability to handle internal andexternal issues in a calm, positive, and professional mannerEffective presentation and training skills Ability to maintain aprofessional demeanor and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s in Business, Hospital Pharmacy Administration, orHealthcare Management preferred or ASHP- approved managementresidency or Leadership training Experience with EPIC, electronicmedical record, is desirable
