Position Responsibilities:
Receives written prescriptions; fills / re-fills requests and verifies that information is complete and accurate. Maintains proper storage and security conditions for drugs. Addresses phone and electronic communications, responding to questions or requests. Is precise in following Pharmacist instructions to fill bottles with prescribed medications and ensure accurate affix labels. Assists customers / other healthcare members by answering simple questions, locating items or referring them to the Pharmacist for medication information. Prices and files prescriptions that have been filled. Cleans and helps maintain equipment in the work areas; sterilizes glass and tools according to prescribed methods. Performs data entries to maintain patient profiles, including list of medications taken by the individual patients. Supports appropriate inventory maintenance by ordering, labeling and counting stock of medications, chemicals and supplies and by entering inventory data into the computer. Interphases with provided technology (Robot) to receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices and inform Pharmacist / Supervisor of stock needs and shortages. Handles and transports medications as required by the chain of command and medical center procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of proper care and handling of specialty instruments. Adheres to personal protective equipment protocol at all times. Participates in patient safety initiatives by maintaining a safe working environment. Responsible for opening & closing the Mount Sinai Pharmacy and Gift Shop. Schedules appointments with vendors. Assists in ordering merchandise and special orders for the gift shop. Assists Manager in buying new merchandise. Responsible for rotation of stock. Responsible for totaling daily sales for the month and delivery of the same to Accounting Department. Responsible for training new employees in the pharmacy and gift shop.
Qualifications:
Pharmacy Technician Registration/License in the State of Florida required, Board Certification (PTCB) preferred High School Diploma, Accredited Technical School Education Diploma/Certification preferred One year Pharmacy Technician experience and retail experience preferred.
