Full Job Description Position Summary:
Responsible for pharmacy operations in acute care facilities.
Responsibilities:
Leads the department and facilitates collaborative implementation of all department, facility and organizational action plans to achieve the strategic objectives of Orlando Health. Demonstrates exemplary communication skills with all audiences. Consistently demonstrates strong technical and interpersonal skills when making decision that affect the department and the customers of the department. Oversees pharmacy staff practice, personnel management and staff development. Responsible for all aspects of business, including developing and managing operational budgets, monitoring expense rends and ensuring business models allow the department to exceed established performance standards. Ensures department maintains compliance with all regulatory, legislative, legal, educational and technical issues related to pharmacy practice within facility. Builds effective relationships with all Hospital Operations Manager Peers to achieve the strategic goals and objectives of the facility and Orlando Health. Participates as a member of selected Corporate and Facility committees to advance safe medication practices throughout the organization. Seeks improvement in safe medication practices at every opportunity. Remains actively engaged in the Emergency Preparedness activities of the facility and Orlando Health Effectively manage the change process. Must maintain a current and working knowledge of the technology forces that impact hospital-based pharmacy services. Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Maintains ultimate responsibility for the quality of the medication use process within the facility. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions Actively engages with facility Leadership team to participate in committees, councils and activities that advance the goals of Orlando Health High level of proficiency with computer applications required
Qualifications:
Education/Training Pharmacy degree (Bachelor or PharmD) is required. Licensure/Certification Must be licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy (renewed every two years) or must obtain license within 6 months of hire, and be licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy as a consultant Pharmacist. Experience Three (3) years of experience in hospital pharmacy with experience in management or supervision required. Must command thorough knowledge of hospital management practices and pharmacy laws.
