DESCRIPTION

Good Samaritan Health Clinic of Cullman, Inc. I. Title Certified Pharmacy Technician II. Overall Responsibility Works independently in medication dispensary with supervision of CRNP. Provides general oversight and responsibility for dispensary and medication overflow room. Responsible for filling prescriptions, maintaining patient medication records in DataNet, receiving and documenting in-kind donations, ordering medications as needed to keep supply in inventory, monitoring and documenting inventory, and keeping workspace clean and organized. III. Accountability Directly accountable to CRNP and then to Office Manager and Executive Director as situation warrants. IV. Responsibilities Take messages off voicemail and enter them into excel spreadsheet. Direct entry of patient prescriptions into pharmacy computer. Fill prescriptions (new and refills) Answer prescription questions on the phone and in person Give out medications prescribed by the nurse practitioner or outside doctors Enter into DataNet when prescriptions are picked up Be aware of and watch for interactions of medications Order medications as needed to maintain adequate supply Conduct annual inventory audit Check for out of dates in med dispensary and overflow room Keep both the med dispensary and overflow room clean, organized and stocked Enter medication notes into DataNet from telehealth appointments Keep prescription profiles updated Encourage medication compliance with patients Pull prescriptions that have not been picked up and return them to stock Scan in medication pick up notes Scan in prescriptions from outside doctors Provide medication lists to outside doctors Receive and document in-kind medication donations Coordinate medication orders received and filled with PAPs (Patient Assistance Program) Advocate Cover front when Receptionist is away from desk Keep the workspace clean and organized at all times Other duties as assigned by CRNP, Office Manager or Executive Director V. Skills and Knowledge Required General knowledge of medication classes, types, and utilization. General knowledge of pharmacy computers and their utilization. Ability to exercise sound judgment and ability to work collaboratively with other clinic staff and medical providers. VI. Education and Experience Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with 3+ years of experience or Alabama State Licensed Pharmacy Technician with 5+ years experience. VII. Salary Commensurate with education and experience.
