Highlands Pharmacy is always seeking experienced Pharmacy Technicians to add to our teams as we continue to grow and advance in the battle against cancer. Our Pharmacy Technicians specialize in compounding medications in an aseptic environment for the patients of Highlands Oncology Group. Experience with IVs preferred, but not required as we will train the right person to be a part of this exceptional team. Our pharmacies are open Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm and limited hours on Saturday. We are closed on Sunday and all major holidays. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for working with and supporting the Pharmacist as part of the patient’s care team. This person helps to interpret and prepare all prescriptions in accordance with the prescriber’s directions, federal and state regulations, and company policies. The Pharmacy Admix Technician appropriately uses aseptic techniques to mix and dispense medications, including chemotherapy, with oversight from the Pharmacist. The Technician will also assist in retail pharmacy as part of this dynamic team. The Pharmacy Admix Technician reports directly to the Pharmacy Manager. Highlands Pharmacy is a full-service retail pharmacy and sterile compounding pharmacy that supports the patients and families of Highlands Oncology Group as well as the surrounding community. Highlands Oncology Group is a nationally recognized, multi-disciplinary organization dedicated to highly advanced treatment options and leading clinical studies. We have three state-of-the art outpatient facilities in Rogers, Springdale and Fayetteville, Arkansas, with plans for continued growth throughout the area.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and complete each item as needed and required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a wide variety of people. Excellent customer service skills. Certifications/Licenses/Education/or Experience in a related field: Valid Arkansas state pharmacy technician license High school diploma or equivalency
Physical Requirements:
Pharmacy Technicians must be able to stand and be active for an entire eight-hour shift. Position will require lifting of up to 25 pounds for the purpose of supplies and office materials. Extended periods of time on computer workstations. Moderate walking within the department and occasionally within the clinic.
