POSITION SUMMARY
Customer Service and Stewardship by assisting pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES 1.
Understands workflow and shift expectations to effectively prioritize and delegate tasks. 2. Proficient in pharmacy software systems, report generation, and the use of automatic dispensing cabinets. 3. Ensures accuracy in medication delivery, stock rotation, and outdating. 4. Facilitates the integration of new team members through positive onboarding and training programs. 5. Manages inventory, patient billing, and waste reduction to ensure financial responsibility. 6. Skilled in both sterile and non-sterile compounding and pre-packing. 7. Meets competency and skill assessment requirements. 8. Provides additional support through participation in pharmacy meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and completion of all tasks as directed by pharmacy leadership. 9. Provides excellent customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders, addressing inquiries, resolving issues and communicating medication counseling needs to pharmacists as necessary. 10. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certification:
National pharmacy technician certification by the PTCB or ExCPT required. Current State of Florida Pharmacy Technician registration or current State of Florida Pharmacy Intern registration required.
Work Experience:
Three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Availability to work long and irregular hours; includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently. May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance. May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead. May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift. May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or low to loud noise. May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines. Communicating with others to exchange information. Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. Workspace may vary from open to confined, onsite or remote.
