Job Description

  • Aseptic technique is utilized in IV admixture preparation using appropriate needles, sets, and equipment. Functions requiring conversion or calculation are completed accurately and timely. Floor stock replacement of IV sets and solutions is accomplished on the morning rounds. Communicated with pharmacists and other associates to ensure timely and complete deliveries.
  • Knowledge of location of all hospital departments and services is necessary for timely completion of responsibilities.
  • Communicates with pharmacists to ensure timely and complete deliveries.
  • Assigned medication section is checked quarterly for outdates. Outdated meds are placed in returns section. Medications nearing expiration are labeled accordingly.
  • Completes daily documentation of temperature log on refrigerators and freezers.
  • Trains technicians, pharmacy students, and pharmacy interns under direction of Registered Pharmacist. Works cooperatively with volunteers
  • Lists appropriate products for re-order of supply when needed.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have National Pharmacy Technician Certification or in Lieu of this Certification a Licensed Pharmacist Intern is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years additional education and/or experience.
