Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists in delivering high-quality medication and healthcare services. Your responsibilities will include preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing outstanding customer service. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required to effectively communicate with our diverse patient population.
Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist Ensure proper storage and security of all medications Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and restocking supplies Process prescriptions and handle insurance claims Deliver excellent customer service and address patient questions and concerns Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to support optimal patient care Use medical terminology and medication knowledge to communicate effectively with patients and providers Comply with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and internal procedures Follow aseptic techniques when compounding sterile products, such as IV infusions Help maintain and clean pharmacy equipment
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent on-the-job experience Active Pharmacy Technician certification (as required by state regulations) Strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug interactions Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English Previous pharmacy or healthcare experience preferred
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in IV infusion preparation and techniques Exceptional patient service and communication abilities In-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations and procedures Experience with critical care medication management Familiarity with aseptic techniques for sterile compounding Understanding of medication administration methods, including inhaled medications Experience in acute care or hospital pharmacy settings is a plus
