The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining patient records, and providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities Prepare medications by counting, pouring, labeling, and packaging pharmaceuticals Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs Ensure medication availability by delivering medications to patients and departments Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of healthcare professionals Comply with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the pharmacy board and the Drug Enforcement Administration Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Skills Knowledge of medical terminology Familiarity with aseptic technique Ability to work in a hospital or acute care setting Experience with medication administration Strong patient care and customer service skills Understanding of critical care practices Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems Ability to assist patients with inhaler devices
