Qualifications:
Florida Registered Certified Pharmacy Technician license. One year of Hospital experience preferred. Sterile and non-sterile compounding experience preferred. Knowledge of automated dispensing/storage technology preferred. Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Position Summary The Pharmacy Tech works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists providing a high level of assistance in compounding (sterile and non-sterile preparations), distribution and dispensing of medication and other pharmaceutical related supplies. Assists pharmacy managers or designee in designing, coordinating, and implementing high quality and cost-effective pharmacy technician services. Adheres to all policies and regulations regarding sterile compounding practice. Maintains necessary record-keeping and training documentation pertinent to areas of responsibility. Inspects assigned area(s) monthly for proper storage and labeling of medications and expired medications; completes necessary inspection documentation. Promotes sense of team effort together with pharmacists and technicians. Assists in identifying/researching problems and issues related to department budget and patient billing. Attends educational seminars/in-services to maintain or enhance skills and competencies. Adheres to pharmacy policies, procedures, and objectives; maintains a professional appearance and a clean, safe environment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications. Must meet and maintain current all unit specific and organizational skills/competencies, certifications/licensures, as required by the clinical area. Performs other duties as assigned.
