teams based on payer guidelines and financial assessment. Obtains initial and subsequent pre-authorization for recommended services on all new and existing patients & notes approvals in the electronic medical record. Uploads treatment supporting documentation packet to the electronic medical record for

Revenue Cycle team. Make and answer telephone calls from patients and insurance companies regarding the pre-certification process & financial assistance. Review patient chemotherapy or therapeutic protocols and determine insurance benefits and patient responsibility. Schedule telephone financial aid counseling appointments; follow through on calls to screen, monitor, enroll patients for financial assistance, charity and compassionate use drug programs. Applies for compassionate use drugs through pharmaceutical companies as well as requests & follows up on replacement drug shipments. Documents financial counseling process and discussions in the electronic medical record and forwards necessary documentation to the front desk team members for patient signature. Ensures appropriate signatures are obtained on all necessary forms including, but not limited, AOB, treatment pathway, assistance applications and treatment estimate form. Checks all orders for completeness of information; verifies patient information and proper authorization. Assist patients/physicians with prescriptions/refills as needed. Maintain an active Florida State Pharmacy Technician License. Provides CCSF patient with financial responsibility for treatments for upfront collection of copays, deductibles & coinsurance. Review chemotherapy schedules, checking patients’ accounts for outstanding foundation & copay card insurance claims, informs CCSF or TGH Revenue Cycle department of claims to be submitted to foundation / copay card program for prompt payment of claims.
