  • Job Summary
  • We are seeking a lead pharmacy technician who will perform non-sterile compounding and/or patient care in our team. The main job will be non-sterile compounding but regular pharmacy operation tasks may be performed depending on the workflow.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Non-Sterile Compounding
  • Compounds in all Non-Sterile dosage forms including Capsules, tablets, Creams, Suspensions, Troches, etc.
  • Follows all SOPs to ensure medications are made safely without contamination.
  • Follows USP 795 and 800 guidelines and be able to perform the job accordingly.
  • Be able to follow USP recommended cleaning procedures and sanitary requirements.
  • Meets productivity goals for each dosage form.
  • Monitors workflow priorities to ensure promise times.
  • Assists pharmacists in ordering supplies and APIs.
  • Maintain proper inventories and manages the Return.
  • Ensures patients are called to alert them of any issues or delays with their prescription. Patient Care Task
  • Provides quality customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
  • Answers and directs phone calls.
  • Contacts patients to inform them of their copay.
  • Verifies shipping info and collects credit card information from patient.
  • Transfers the patient to the Pharmacist for consultation on new prescriptions.
  • Daily follow up calls to patients and providers as needed.
  • Documents entire process in pharmacy software for tracking purposes.
  • Manages the Return to Stock process.
  • Requirements
  • Prior experience in non-sterile compounding (At least 2 years)
  • Knowledge of USP 795 and 800 guidelines
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Professional and courteous; demonstrates PCP core values
  • Problem solving and strong math skills
  • A demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Personal pride in delivering high quality products while following operational protocols and requirements
  • A highly motivated and productive self-starter
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and excellent time management in a fast paced, high volume workload environment
  • Knowledge of basic principles, theory, laws, regulations, and practices with respect to compounding
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current active GA pharmacy technician license
