Options Education Assistance Program The Position:

The pharmacy technician provides clinical support services and sterile compounding of infusion therapies under the direction of a pharmacist, and in compliance with state board of pharmacy’s sterile compounding and pharmacy practice regulations. The pharmacy technician prepares and provides clinical support services necessary for the dispensing of injectable and oral medications used to support our core business offerings.

Responsibilities include:

Sterile preparation of IV / infused medications under the direction of the pharmacist and in compliance with current regulations and standards. Demonstrates understanding of USP 797 standards, USP 800 standards, and current State Board of Pharmacy (BOP) regulations. Maintains call and shipment schedules to ensure continuity of care for all patients. Collects, documents, disseminates and coordinates customer communications, laboratory data and various clinical information with pharmacy, nursing and reimbursement staff. Performs efficient data entry of pertinent patient and prescription information into company’s pharmacy software system, as allowed by BOP regulations. Performs all cleaning and maintenance of the pharmacy clean room in accordance with company policy and state BOP regulations. Participates in company’s quality assurance and performance improvement program. Remains current with the BOP continuing education requirements, and completes Soleo’s annual re-credentialing process. Performs receiving and storage of medications and supplies from vendors. Performs the picking/packaging of supplies and medications for shipment to the customer home. Participates in regularly scheduled inventory counts and complies with Soleo’s formulary management program. Obtains additional state technical licensure/registration as requested to support the geographic service area of the branch.

Schedule:

Must be able to work Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-7pm (40 hours per week) Must have a minimum of 1 year IV (Sterile Compounding) experience in the work setting Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation Must be licensed in the state of Georgia as a Pharmacy Technician PTCB- National Certification – preferred

Requirements:

High school diploma (or equivalent) required Registered/Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), or as required by the BOP Minimum experience working as a technician in the pharmacy IV room of a hospital. Prior technician experience with a home infusion company preferred Current registration and ACPE requirements are met Excellent customer service skills Excellent sterile compounding technique Basic to intermediate efficiency with
