Job Description
Certified Pharmacy Technician Ted’s Pharmacy 1866 Main Street, Haynesville, LA 71038 Certified Pharmacy Technician – The Independent Community Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients in an independent community pharmacy setting. The technician will work collaboratively with the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient medication dispensing, medication therapy management, and excellent customer service. The technician will also assist with administrative tasks and maintain inventory control in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Assist the pharmacist in accurately dispensing prescription medications to patients. Review and interpret prescription orders for completeness and accuracy. Prepare and package medications according to established procedures and regulations. Maintain accurate and complete medication records, including patient profiles and drug utilization review. Provide excellent customer service, including answering patient inquiries, resolving medication-related issues, and providing medication counseling. Collaborate with the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy management for patients. Assist with administrative tasks, such as managing prescription inventory, processing insurance claims, and maintaining patient records. Follow all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to medication dispensing and pharmacy practice. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and disposal of medications and supplies. Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with pharmacy practice guidelines and regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program. Active pharmacy technician license in the state of practice. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in an independent community pharmacy setting. Strong knowledge of prescription medications, drug classifications, dosage forms, and routes of administration. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members. Attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing and recordkeeping. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and technology. Understanding of and adherence to federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of pharmacy.

$14.00 – $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
