Job Description:
SCOPE:
Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Mixing Technician will prepare, compound and dispense medical prescriptions. May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Verifies stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records. Maintains sterile compounding area according to standards and LSBME regulations. May be asked to assist at other sites if a need arises.
FUNCTIONS
1. Preparing prescription orders accurately and efficiently, verifying prescription information and dosage. 2. Providing quality customer service to patients and other healthcare providers. 3. Maintaining inventory & maintains a safe and clean dispensary. 4. Maintaining records by recording and filing physician’s orders and prescriptions. 5. Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing goals, seeking opportunities for development, and promoting a positive environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Technician Certification program and be licensed by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy. Clinic pharmacy experience required. QS1 pharmacy management experience required.
