The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of pharmacy operations, including medication administration and patient service, particularly in acute care settings. A commitment to balancing multiple duties on a daily basis is strongly desired in the ideal candidate. Duties Assisting the pharmacist in daily tasks in medication dispensing and patient care Support the pharmacy team with inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies and automated storage cabinets Assist pharmacists in stocking and dispensing medications into automated storage cabinets. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries from nursing and other staff members Repackaging of medications into unit-dose formulations Entry of medication orders into pharmacy system as requested by pharmacist Perform routine inspections of nursing medication rooms, pharmacy crash carts and pharmacy equipment Adhere to all safety protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment. Reviewing periodic reports, adjusting par values of medications based on use Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills related to pharmacy practice. Requirements Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred, with relevant experience in a pharmacy setting.. Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service and care. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with medication administration procedures Being able to balance medication dispensing, packaging and order entry tasks Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality in pharmacy operations.
