Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining patient records, and providing excellent customer service in a healthcare setting.

Duties:

• Prepare medications by counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and mixing pharmaceuticals
• Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs
• Ensure medication availability by delivering medications to patients and departments
• Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; counseling patients on drug therapies
• Comply with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the pharmacy board, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration
• Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique
• Experience in patient care within a hospital or acute care setting
• Proficiency in medication administration
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care
• Familiarity with critical care medication processes
