Key Responsibilities Promptly greets patients and families in person and by telephone with a friendly and helpful attitude. Answers medication-related inquiries, requests authorization for refills, and provides guidance on prescription pick-up. Responds efficiently to inquiries by health care providers with pharmacy question and refer inquiries to the pharmacist as needed. Manages the administrative responsibilities for faxing, filing, and/or documenting in medical record for non-electronic prescriptions, MassPAT PMP requirements, 340B eligibility, or other pertinent procedures. Determines and updates patient’s insurance information, calls insurance companies to verify coverage, processes claims through the patient’s insurance. Collaborates with the pharmacist and prescribers to formulate a solution, such as an alternative medicine or co-pay discount program. Compounds simple or complex non-sterile medications in accordance with established policies, procedures and professional standards. Maintains pharmacy inventory by monitoring medication and supplies stock levels, anticipating needed medications and supplies, and removing outdated/expired drugs. Places and expedites orders, receives orders, rotates medications, restocks supplies Ensures the proper storage of all medications in accordance with policies and procedures. Performs routine quality control, cleaning and equipment maintenance tasks according to established procedures and schedules. Prepares and maintains related logs and records.
Requirements:
