Summary:

The Certified technician provides general support tothe pharmacist by receiving, reviewing, compounding and dispensingmedications. All work is carried out under the supervision of alicensed Pharmacist.

This position qualifies for our PharmacyTechnician Incentive Program, which includes $5000 in commitmentincentives spread over a two-year period. Payment is made after sixmonths, one year, and two years of employment. Responsibilities:

1.Receives and accurately transcribes orders from prescribers underthe supervision of a pharmacist. Process prescriptions in a timelyorder and manner so as to best take care of patient needs.2.Assists with training of new employees, educating them injob-specific functions.3. Assists with Medication TherapyManagement, Medsync, and other clinical outreach programs.4.Selects and prepares medications (oral, topical, controlledsubstances, etc.) as authorized by a physician, under thesupervision of a licensed Pharmacist.5. Prepares medications forpick-up, delivery or shipping. Returns unpurchased medications tostock and processes credits.6. Solves issues with patient payment(prior authorization, patient assistance needed, etc.). Sellsprescriptions to patients and processes payment. Accurately managescash and other payments.7. Responds to and triages requests fromcustomers for assistance with pharmacy services that do not requirea pharmacist’s professional judgment or expertise.8. Operates andsupports automated dispensing technology to supply correctmedications for individual patients, according to pharmacist andphysician orders.9. Orders, receives, restocks, and rotatesinventory and supplies, and contributes to expiration datemanagement.10. Contributes to process improvement projects.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

• Registration with the NCBoard of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program. •CPhT fromPTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmDprogram.

Professional Experience Requirements:

• Prior pharmacytechnician experience is preferred.
