Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in reviewing prior authorizations and determining their approval or denial within a Pharmacy Services department of a large healthcare insurance company. You will manage health plans and various types of medications, ensuring seamless operations by collaborating with pharmacists for final reviews. Responsibilities + Process prescription exceptions, including resolving claim rejects and conducting outreach to members and physicians. + Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system. + Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and escalated member concerns. + Escalate prescription-related questions to a pharmacist for interpretation or guidance on processing. + Assist with inbound and outbound calls from patients or physicians. Essential Skills + High School diploma or GED. + Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by the state of operation. + Basic computer skills. + Nationally Certified Technician and registered pharmacy technician in the state of residence. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook. + Experience in call center, PBM, hospital, specialty pharmacy, or prescription benefits. Work Environment This is a professional remote work environment requiring a strong Wi-Fi connection and a personal office space with a closed door. You will work with multiple screens and systems. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 8 pm in your time zone, with rotating weekends every 4-6 weeks. Some holiday work is required, with holiday schedules determined by bidding. Training will be from 10 am to 6:30 pm EST, and post-training shifts will start at 8 am, 9 am, or 10 am in your time zone. Equipment, including a computer, monitor, and headset, will be provided. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
