Job Title:

Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This role involves reviewing Prior Authorizations for coverage determination within a Pharmacy Services department of a large healthcare insurance company. The technician will either approve or deny requests and then send them to a Pharmacist for final review. This position involves handling all health plans and types of medications with minimal phone work, primarily outbound calls if needed. Responsibilities + Track coverage determination requests and obtain verbal authorizations. + Approve requests based on criteria and enter decisions into the PBM system. + Notify providers and members of decisions. + Respond to client inquiries and refer requests for specialty drugs. + Contact providers for additional clinical information. + Notify stakeholders of decision outcomes. + Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls if necessary. Essential Skills + Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of residence. + National certification (PTCB, NHA). + High School diploma or GED. + Strong computer skills. + Experience with prior authorization processes. + Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with data entry and customer service. + Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance processes. + Experience in retail or hospital pharmacy settings. Work Environment This is a remote position within a professional environment. Candidates must have strong Wi-Fi and a dedicated office space with a closed door. The role involves working with multiple screens and systems. The shift requires availability Monday-Friday from 8am-8pm in the candidate’s time zone, with rotating weekends every 4-6 weeks and some holidays. Training will be from 10am-6:30pm EST. Schedules are provided three months in advance. The company provides necessary equipment including a computer, monitor, and headset. Flexibility is offered for those who meet performance metrics and have tenure with the company. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $20.00/hr.
