Part-Time Pharmacy Technician:

Duties:

Fill prescriptions accurately and efficiently, following all applicable laws and regulations. Prepare medications, including compounding when necessary, according to established protocols and under the supervision of veterinarians. Pull injectable medications, including controlled substances, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering medications and supplies as needed. Work collaboratively with pharmacy and hospital staff to ensure seamless communication and workflow. Provide excellent customer service to clients, answering questions and addressing concerns as needed. Assist with training and mentoring new pharmacy staff members as necessary. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to work around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors. Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged / challenging situations. Ability to provide high quality customer service. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to work effectively with computers and electronics.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat most of the workday.

Education and Experience:

North Carolina Pharmacy Technician Credential is preferred. Previous experience working in a busy pharmacy, preferably in a veterinary setting. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and documentation.
