Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join a respected hospital pharmacy team in Ithaca, NY. The ideal candidate will assist with the preparation and distribution of medications, inventory control, and sterile compounding, all under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe and effective medication practices in an inpatient hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Dispense and distribute medications in accordance with physician or pharmacist direction and facility protocols Restock automated dispensing cabinets and emergency drug kits; manage expiration dates and inventory levels Safely prepare sterile IV admixtures, parenteral nutrition, and chemotherapy using aseptic techniques Repackage bulk medications into unit-dose packaging with precision and compliance Manage receipt, storage, and inventory of medications and supplies Conduct and document monthly medication storage area inspections Generate necessary reports, pick lists, and labels to support operational workflow Maintain compliance with sterile compounding regulations and hospital safety standards

Required Qualifications:
Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Certification:

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of

New York Experience:

Minimum 2 years of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience

Flexibility:

Ability to adapt to changing demands and responsibilities
