Job Summary:
We are seeking licensed Pharmacy Technicians to join the Clinical Pharmacy Department at Rikers Island, part of New York City Health and Hospitals’ Correctional Health Services. This is a great opportunity to support vulnerable patient populations while gaining hands-on institutional pharmacy experience in a correctional health setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications Maintain drug inventory, including receiving, returning, and delivering medications and carts Operate and troubleshoot automated dispensing systems Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all pharmacy operations Rotate assignments and shifts as needed under pharmacist supervision Adhere to all Federal, State, and local pharmacy laws and regulations
Requirements:
License:
Must be licensed as a Registered Pharmacy Technician by the New York State Education Department (NYSED)
Experience:
At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience is required
Preferred:
Experience in pharmacy dispensing, sterile processing, or IV room operations
Additional Information:
Setting:
Correctional facility•must be comfortable working in a secure environment

Evening shift, 1:00 PM•9:00
PM Duration:
13-week assignment with potential for extension
