Job Description

Job Summary Our client is in search of a dedicated Pharmacy Technician, also known internally as a Care Coordinator. This pivotal role involves assisting patients in obtaining specialized therapies, acting as their advocate, and guiding them through the complexities of acquiring pharmaceuticals unavailable at chain pharmacies. Key Responsibilities Act as a patient advocate to gain insurance coverage for prescribed therapies. Welcome new patients and create profiles with all critical information. Conduct periodic insurance verifications and authorizations for patient coverage. File claims for patient prescriptions and orders. Engage in collection activities as per client program specifications. Provide initial and ongoing investigation and benefit explanations to patients. Obtain and maintain Prior Authorizations. Create patient orders and prescription entries for new and refilled prescriptions. Communicate with prescribers, request new prescriptions, and bill for RX drugs and administration supplies. Assist patients with possible financial assistance and coordinate all documentations for shipments. Arrange for necessary documentation and material for initial and ongoing shipments. Coordinate all deliveries and process patient returns. Obtain necessary consent forms for manufacturers or patient support organizations. Assist pharmacists with day-to-day tasks, including filling prescriptions and entering prescription information. Assist in preparing any ad hoc reports requested by clients. Other duties as needed or assigned. Qualifications Current Missouri BOP Pharmacy Technician license or Nurse license in good standing. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical/pharmacy insurance benefit language. Ability to define CMS 1500s, provider numbers, CPT, HCPC’s, ICD9, NCPDP, and NDC codes/numbers. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing, and insurance claim appeals. Experience with prior authorization, SMN preparation, and Patient Assistance Programs is a plus. Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer literacy. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Group facilitation and meeting participation skills. High level of transparency, ethics, and attention to detail. Creative self-starter and team player, with excellent interpersonal skills. Additional Requirements Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
