Job Summary:
A pharmacy technician works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and is responsible for filling and preparing received prescription orders.
Essential duties:
Accurately process, prepare and dispense medications for both community retail customers and residents of long term care facilities Package and dispense medications in vials, blister packs, bingo cards, unit dose packaging, etc. as appropriate Manage medications including changes and adjustments in regimen for residents of nursing facilities Submit and process third party billing claims and resolve insurance issues Provide superior customer service and maintain accurate patient records Organize and manage inventory by ordering, receiving and stocking medications properly
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or higher
Pharmacy Technician Experience:
1 year (preferred)
Skills:
Effective computer and typing skills Excellent communication and customer service Dependability/punctuality Attention to detail Organization and ability to prioritize duties Working knowledge of pharmacy information systems Application process includes interview and probationary period. Schedule is Monday-Friday and every other weekend.
