Position Summary :
This role combines the technical responsibilities of a pharmacy data entry technician with leadership duties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and team development.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Entry & Prescription Handling Accurately enter patient demographics, insurance information, allergies, and prescription details Verify prescription accuracy prior to processing Maintain thorough and compliant patient records and prescription files Staff Oversight & Support Supervise, train, and mentor pharmacy technicians Oversee daily workflow and task distribution Monitor performance and provide ongoing feedback and coaching Ensure compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations Service & Operational Improvement Lead implementation of new services and workflow improvements Support continuous quality and efficiency initiatives Collaborate with pharmacists to address workflow or staffing needs Customer Service & Communication Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries Communicate clearly with patients, providers, and insurance companies Support staff with complex prescription or insurance issues Inventory & Administrative Support Assist in inventory tracking, stock level checks, and ordering Help ensure accurate and timely preparation and shipping of medications Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations
Qualifications :
Experience:
+ years as a pharmacy technician
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Skills:
Strong data entry and accuracy skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities In-depth knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and systems Ability to multitask and adapt in a busy environment
