Job Description
We are hiring a Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician for a full-time day shift contract role supporting a hospital system in Philadelphia, PA . This role begins with on-site training before transitioning to a remote work model. Assignment Details:
Contract position with immediate start Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Training onsite (Philadelphia) with remote work following onboarding 8-12 weeks of comprehensive training provided
Primary Responsibilities:
Review and process medication prior authorization requests accurately and efficiently Ensure completeness of patient records, insurance data, and documentation Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify or obtain necessary information Navigate and apply payer policies and drug coverage guidelines
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of prior authorization experience as a pharmacy technician National certification (CPhT) highly preferred ; candidates scheduled to take the exam and committed to certification within 6 months will also be considered Strong communication skills and attention to detail Must be able to commute for training prior to remote transition This is a critical position where your expertise will directly support timely patient care and access to medications.
