OurUniversity Hospital Pharmacy location is located within the mainUniversity Hospital campus and we partner with other healthcareprofessionals to improve the lives of our patients.

DETAILED

JOBDESCRIPTIONPrepare sterile compounded medications in compliancewith USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines.

Perform daily and monthlycleanroom and equipment maintenance as described in USP 797, USP800, and department policies and procedures. Maintain organizedinventory of compounding supplies, medications, and personalprotective equipment.

Accurately calculate and measure medicationsfor prescription orders.

Document compounding activities includingproduct preparation, dispensing, and quality assurance.

Ensurecompliance with federal, state and institutional regulationsincluding hazardous medications.

Adhere to safety protocolsincluding personal protective equipment use and handling hazardousmedications.

Perform all other duties of a pharmacytechnician.

Complete all assigned competencies including but notlimited to required media fill and gloved fingertip sampling.

Trainpharmacy technicians and other pharmacy personnel in sterilecompounding areas.

May complete unit/department-specific duties andexpectations as outlined in department documents.

REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS

Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technicianlicensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy. Certified PharmacyTechnician (CPhT) certification by the Pharmacy TechnicianCertification Board (PTCB) within one (1) year as a condition ofcontinued employment in this job classification.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of college or one (1) year ofexperience. Experience with sterile compounding technology andautomated compounding devices. Two (2) years of healthcareexperience. Additional license/certification requirements asdetermined by the hiring department.
