DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
Prepare, dispense, and distribute medications. Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, andother pharmacy employees. Provide on-the-job training to new personnel and assist inevaluating the progress of new employees. Receive prescriptions, complete data entry of prescription ordersin the pharmacy dispensing software, and adjudicate third-partyinsurance claims. Prepare and label prescriptions consistent with state and federallabeling guidelines. Conduct point-of-sale transactions that require proper cashhandling, offer patient counseling, and comply with all out-windowprocedures for patient safety. Answer telephones and handle calls that do not require the personalattention of a pharmacist. Deliver quality customer service in all interactions withpatients. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined indepartment documents. Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Internlicensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
