Summary/Objective:
Supports pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications.
Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Under supervision of a pharmacist, assists in certain areas related to processing prescriptions (data entry, filling, and checking out patients). Helps put away incoming pharmacy inventory (except for controlled substances). Transfers prescriptions on behalf of pharmacists (if certified). Researches and completes insurance verification prior to seeking requests for medications. Recognizes financial assistance offered by pharmaceutical companies and helps patients apply when appropriate. Reconciles patient’s medications prior to face-to-face visit with the pharmacist. Is available to patients for questions or concerns regarding their medications. Fills medications, as necessary, under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Must be a Registered or Certified/Licensed Pharmacy Technician from an accredited institution.
Experience:
Must be familiar with State of Tennessee Refill Opioid/Controlled Substance Laws Must be experienced with the Controlled Substance Monitoring Database Must be extremely precise with physician orders for medications Must have excellent communication skills with medical professionals and patients Must be familiar with electronic medical records and pharmacy dispensing software Must be computer literate.
