MLT Certification Full Job Description Preferred Qualifications:

Prior VA experience. Candidates ready to begin work immediately. Proof of licensure and anticipated hire dates required. Medical Technologists (MT) / Medical Lab Technicians (MLT): Must be certified (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent). MTs require a Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Generalist (proficient in Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology, Immunology, Urinalysis; Microbiology experience preferred).

Phlebotomists:

2 full-time positions. Must have recent experience (within the past year). Responsible for blood draws and specimen accessioning. Must follow high standards for patient identification and quality care. Reports to Supervisor of Phlebotomy; expected to maintain professionalism and patient focus.

Duties:

Perform venipuncture and specimen handling. Follow positive patient ID protocols. Maintain professional relationships with VA staff. Complete assigned tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Work Schedules:

Primary:

Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM or 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. May include rotating weekends and alternative shifts (second, third, or 7-on/7-off).

Training & Compliance:

Orientation under the Phlebotomy Supervisor. Must be technically proficient and fluent in English. Required to comply with VA regulations and provide documentation of qualifications and training history.
