$4.93/HR Phlebotomist Contractor shall provide 2 Full-time Phlebotomist. The candidate must be a qualified, current experience within last year as a phlebotomist. This individual will accession specimens all types of incoming specimens and draw blood for inpatients and outpatients with highest quality standards for correctly identifying patients to ensure no errors occur. During duty days/hours at the VAMC, the contractor shall be fully committed to VA patients and under the direction/supervision of the Supervisor of Phlebotomy. The contract individual is expected to devote the time necessary to deliver the highest quality services to the VA patients.

CLINICAL TASKS/DUTIES

Principal responsibilities involve duties of drawing bloods following policies for positive patient identification for inpatients and outpatients as well accession all incoming specimens. Manual dexterity, keen observational skills and sound judgment are required to correctly identify patients prior to venipuncture. a. Maintain congenial relationships with all VA staff. b. Participate in other areas as assigned by the Supervisor of Phlebotomy.

TOUR OF DUTY

The Phlebotomist will be required to work from 7:30am – 4 pm or 8:00 am- 4:30 pm depending on the need of the service) for 40 hours, Monday through Friday with possible weekend rotation . A record keeping system ofcontractor hours worked shall be established. The payment of any leave, including sick leave, holidays, vacations, is the responsibility of the contractor.
