Hours:
Will work the daytime shift, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a half hour for lunch. Regular work hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with possible rotating weekends.
Duties:
This individual will accession all types of incoming specimens and draw blood for inpatients and outpatients with highest quality standards for correctly identifying patients to ensure no errors occur. During duty days/hours at the VAMC, the contractor shall be fully committed to VA patients and under the direction/supervision of the Supervisor of Phlebotomy. The contract individual is expected to devote the time necessary to deliver the highest quality services to the VA patients. Principal responsibilities involve duties of drawing bloods following policies for positive patient identification for inpatients and outpatients as well accession all incoming specimens. Manual dexterity, keen observational skills and sound judgment are required to correctly identify patients prior to venipuncture. Maintain congenial relationships with all VA staff. Participate in other areas as assigned by the Supervisor of Phlebotomy.
Requirements:
Education:
Completion of a Phlebotomy Program.
Certification:
Maintain active, unrestricted certification as a Phlebotomist.
Experience:
