Description
Collects human clinical specimens using established, approved laboratory methods in a safe and efficient manner. Interacts with patients, physicians and hospital staff members in a professional manner. Serves as receptionist for patients and hospital staff conducting business with the laboratory. Performs clerical duties as needed to create, maintain and communicate patient data to health care providers. Responsible for specimen collection from patients, clerical tasks and other duties as outlined below. Works closely with the laboratory manager, Director of Laboratory Services, and Medical Director to provide effective oversight of phlebotomy. Responsible for training, supervising, directing and coordinating phlebotomy activities as outlined below.
Qualifications
Education
Degree Major And/Or
High School Diploma or
GED
License/Registration
License/Registration – Issued by Florida or Compact State And/Or
Certification
Certification And/Or
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Red Cross or American Heart
Association
Work Experience and Additional Information
Three years’ experience in phlebotomy.
