In this role, the Phlebotomist will be responsible for preparing patients before drawing blood, explain blood draw procedures to patients and answer any questions about the process, gather medical testing materials including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubes, and verify patient information and label blood samples properly. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed. Administer basic life support as needed and assist in emergency situations. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Support the medical team with various tasks related to hospital medicine and inpatient care. Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers. Assist in the operating room (OR) as necessary, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use. Provide care for geriatric patients, understanding their unique needs and concerns. Experience – Urgent Need for a Medical Assistant with Solid Phlebotomy Experience Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within a hospital or urgent care setting is preferred. Knowledge of physiology and emergency medicine is highly desirable. Familiarity with Level II Trauma Center protocols and procedures is an asset. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism. Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients of all ages, particularly the elderly.
