Actively interviewing for Floater Phlebotomist to join top diagnostic client in Savannah, GA!
Position Responsibilities:
Experience doing blood draws labeling specimens centrifuging specimens recording maintenance data and decontamination updating patient information etc. Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture blood drawing and or other specimen collection ex. urine or fecal as required. Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all of the physicians’ orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label centrifuge split and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100 correct. Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube accurately labels follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

2+ year of recent experience in phlebotomy Venipuncture on all age group – pediatrics to geriatrics Great customer service Additional Skills & Qualifications The workers number 1 responsibility will be drawing. They need to be comfortable sticking at least 10-50 patients daily. They need to be able to shoot trouble since they will be out by themselves at several locations rather than having a peer with them. Being able to report to management when issues occur. Must have confidence. They will perform minor specimen processing. They will also be drawing on pregnant women and sick patients. They need to be proficient when drawing. Work Environment Phlebotomist will be a floater supporting surrounding locations, both PSC and IOP sites. At times may be working with other phlebotomists. Schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Mileage is expensed for floating travel.
