As a pediatric phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing venipuncture and blood draws. You will also assist with the laboratory testing of blood and other bodily fluids as well as lab administrative work. As a pediatric phlebotomist, you must be comfortable with blood draws, venipunctures, and other lab procedures of patients aged newborn to young adult.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws. Utilization of centrifuge Entering orders into lab ordering system Using EMR to enter and complete orders Maintain a clean and sterile work area Maintain lab equipment and order lab supplies Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols Other duties as assigned by the clinical/office manager and physicians
Skills:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with high attention to detail required. Pediatric venipuncture skills and able to reassure pediatric patients and provide them with a calm environment during lab draws. Customer service driven with good time management skills Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Dependable and highly motivated and adaptable to change This is a full-time, Monday-Friday, position. Starting salary based on experience. Pediatric experience preferred.
