Actively Screening for Part Time In Office – Phlebotomist is Suwanee, GA! Job Description We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist responsible for accurately obtaining blood samples via venipuncture and capillary collection procedures, ensuring minimal discomfort for patients. This role provides care to a diverse patient population ranging from infants to geriatrics. The Phlebotomist ensures specimen integrity by adhering to laboratory procedures for collection, handling, and processing while maintaining departmental policies on quality control, quality assurance, and safety. Responsibilities Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection using technical skills and abilities. Accurately handle and process specimens following laboratory procedures. Correctly identify patients and properly label specimens. Utilize proper tubes, containers, transport media, and storage temperature for each test type. Identify the correct priority for the collection process, following guidelines for missed draws, recollects, or difficult sticks. Ensure quality through job knowledge, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Use resources to answer test-related inquiries and customer issues. Adhere to safety, infection control, OSHA Blood Borne Pathogen guidelines, CPL Compliance policies, and HIPAA guidelines. Participate in departmental quality assurance and laboratory training programs. Effectively utilize departmental resources and demonstrate efficiency in procedures and priority determination. Utilize appropriate supplies with minimal waste and operate equipment to maximize efficiency. Constructively use unstructured time and promote positive customer relations. Communicate with laboratory staff and customers to ensure quality patient care. Maintain confidentiality of customer information and strive to maintain a positive work environment. Essential Skills 3 to 5 years of recent phlebotomy experience. Experience with high volume – 40+ draws per day. Proficiency with blood draw and straight needles. Strong customer service skills and a positive personality. Certification as a Phlebotomist. Outpatient experience required for processing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Good interpersonal skills to promote customer relations. Ability to participate in quality assurance and training programs. Work Environment The role is based in an IOP/Office environment, not PSC, dealing with high volume processing and blood draws for 25-50 patients per day. This position is initially offered as a contract with potential for contract-to-hire based on performance. The work schedule is full-time, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 1 PM, with every other Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM being optional and subject to discussion. As this position is with one of the largest clients, we are seeking a highly qualified candidate.
