Job Description

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join our team in Lithonia, GA. The ideal candidate will have experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination. This role involves updating patient information, collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, and providing clear and courteous explanations of venipuncture processes. Responsibilities Perform blood draws using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Properly explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection methods. Collect and store specimens following established procedures. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders. Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels are 100% accurate. Package specimens for transport. Store specimen samples at the required temperature and in the appropriate collection container/tube. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
